The Sabine Shiner is apparently relatively common is clear moving waters in some locations near Houston. At Caney Creek I've observed a number of schools of these Shiners numbering up to 20 individuals. I was able to catch a dozen of them in one throw of my 3/16" glass minnow cast net by targetting one of these schools. At Spring Creek and Riley Fuzzel, I collected a dozen of them in a couple hours of cast netting.
