Honduran Milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum hondurensis)

Anerythristic

Lacks the red pigment that normal Hondurans have. The red bands are replaced with pink in hatchlings. The pink fades nearly to white as the snake grows to adult size. This snake is a rarity. The first captive bred specimen, a single male, was produced in 1990. One of my breeders was featured as a hatchling in the "What's new?" column of Captive Breeding Magazine. It was also featured in Bechtel's book "Reptile and Amphibian variants". This snake has been very popular, but the popularity received and unexpected boost in '95 with the introduction of the amelanistic Honduran by Louis Porras. The combination of anerythristics and amelanistics will eventually result in the production of snow hondurans which are expected to be very popular. For those spending $3000 a pop on amelanistics, anerythristics are a must.
